Russia to Stop Flaring Natural Gas

RussiaIC.com reports this piece of good news, both for the environment and for the Russian natural gas industry:
Russian Ministry of Natural Resources has held a meeting on the problem of casing head gas utilizing. Participants discussed that burning of this gas damaged environment both in Russia and the world...
Russian state authorities decided to put the issue of gas utilizing under special control and to stimulate oil producing companies to utilize oil production by-products more carefully.

Funny how everyone is purportedly so concerned about the environment, whilst our world faces much graver challenges.
I think we're more likely to start annihilating each other in WW-III before the environment will be rendered unlivable.
Bush's Lebensraum is ever so evident, despite the vehement objections to any such insinuations. But the similarities are uncanny.
Just as uncle Joe naively believed in Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, so today Russia is told to rest assured that US-led NATO has no evil intentions. That is, beyond expanding NATO to the very borders of Russia proper and surrounding it with elements of strategic forces, including missiles, just in case. And forget about pacts -- just take good NATO's word for it, you authoritarian war-mongering Russia, you!
I just hope Russia has another Richard Sorge today, whose early warnings will be heeded.

Did you all know that plants produce three times as much CO2 as all factories and cars combined. And OCEANS produce 10 times as much as plants, people and any other source of CO2 in this world.
CO2 is not the cause of rise in temperature, its a stupid, misunderstood phenomenon that people call global warming!

Plants utilize CO2 to make Oxygen. They utilize the carbon to manufacture their food through the Krebs cycle, and discharge the excess O2 molecule.

Regarding other silly claims about C02, and where it does (and doesn't) come from - I suppose it is just an amazing coincidence that CO2 levels have risen to 380 ppm ... during the age of industrialization?
Serge has his facts confused. Plants and oceans contain CO2, but are not net emitters of CO2. If you burn all the plants - without allow new replacement plant growth to recapture the CO2 - you've increased atmospheric CO2. In effect, burning of fossil fuels does this, returning previously contained carbon into the atmosphere.
